Machinist
Job Summery:
Mainly responsible for operating, milling & turning machines. Also responsible for maintaining machines in a good operation condition.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
• Set up, operate, machine tools such as milling and turning machines to turn metal or other materials to the required shape.
• Check the functionality of the machines.
• Controlling operations of the machineries.
• Conducting tests and inspections of materials, products, services, or processes to evaluate quality.
• Observe continuous operation of automatic machines to ensure that products meet specifications and to detect jams, malfunctions and making adjustments as necessary.
• Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects in order to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
• Perform maintenance work such as cleaning and oiling machines.
• Follow up good work practice and safety rules and procedure.
• Maintain a good housekeeping.
• Monitoring of machineries, product production and maintains high output of product.
• Read and understand Blueprints and technical drawings to assess production
• Develop and document manufacturing instructions and data sheets.
• Operate compression or injection molding machines.
• Repair and maintain machines.
• Cut off excess material, and Grind scraps into powder.
• Inspect products for surface defects and flaws, Ensure conformance to specifications.
• Position and secure assembled mold and mold components, and Put dies into machine.
• Carry out activities as per specification and drawings.
• Inspect materials for any deficiencies.
• Shape steel, aluminium, titanium, plastic, wood, filer, silicon and other materials.
• Select tools, metals and remove metals accordingly.
• Monitor and control feed rate and speed.
• Ensure work piece is properly lubricated and cooled.

Education & Experience
• These occupations usually require diploma in mechanical and may require some vocational training or job-related course work.
• 5 years work-related skill, knowledge and experience.
Skills & Competencies
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
• The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machines to take proper position for cutting.
• Good communication and technical skill.
Working Conditions:
Machinist work in the workshops, as a full time during regular business hours, overtime during normal days and during weekends or holidays when required.
