Production Supervisor

Role Summary:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for the safety and productivity of all production employees and equipment on their shift, as well as plant security. This role ensures production schedules are met and production data is reported accurately, while maintaining quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure safety and productivity of all employees assigned to the designated shift
• Ensure security of facilities during shift hours
• Enforce all Health & Safety programs and processing procedures
• Operate fiberizing equipment, filtration systems, cooling towers, compressors, and sieving machines
• Troubleshoot plant equipment and process issues
• Report equipment problems via the work order system
• Maintain a clean and safe workplace following 5S protocol
• Follow plant start-up and shut-down procedures
• Prepare daily production reports including downtime, output, spare changes, total working hours, and ensure accuracy
• Train new employees and coach existing employees
• Enable effective communication between management and production teams
• Ensure productivity meets management goals and finished products meet quality requirements
• Investigate and report incidents, unsafe equipment, and hazards
• Maintain housekeeping and proper storage of empty boxes, bags, and skids
• Suggest and implement cost-saving ideas

Safety Responsibilities:

• Ensure health and safety of all workers under direct supervision
• Comply with Alkegen regulations and applicable orders
• Educate workers on health and safety hazards and ensure cooperation with the joint health and safety committee

Required Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Quality control lab testing
• Intimate knowledge of all available processing equipment and processes
• Knowledge of fiberizing processing and work procedures
• Ability to motivate others to meet production schedules
• Basic computer literacy
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Basic math skills

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in a suitable Engineering field

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Ability to climb stairs and stand for extended periods
• Ability to safely lift up to 23 Kg
• Wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods
• Ability to pass Pulmonary Function Test
• Proficiency in operating all necessary equipment
