IFE Engineer – Aviation (In-Flight Entertainment Systems)

Job Type: On-site – Manama, Capital Governorate, Bahrain
Description:
Oaklands Global is recruiting an IFE Engineer for a leading aviation client in the Middle East. This flying role requires a resourceful, resilient, and effective professional, capable of handling sensitive situations with discretion. The engineer will gain full familiarity with the fleet’s IFE/CMS systems and report directly to the Base Maintenance Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain the serviceability and readiness of IFE carry-on devices, ensuring subscriptions are active and devices work efficiently.

• Support the Engineering Department in maintenance and troubleshooting of IFE/CMS systems.

• Provide technical assistance for defect investigations and operational issues.

• Manage and document software, firmware, and hardware configuration records for IFE/CMS equipment across the fleet.

• Contribute to developing operational procedures for equipment not covered in the Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM).

• Coordinate and perform regular content updates.

• Support training initiatives such as on-the-job training (OJT) sessions and structured refresher courses.

• Work closely with the Corporate Planning Department on system upgrades, technology refreshes, and integration of new IFE/CMS technologies.

• Provide backup support for flying IFE engineers during operational flights when required.

• Participate in the evaluation and implementation of new technologies, system modifications, and enhancements.

• Perform additional duties assigned by the direct supervisor to achieve objectives.

Requirements and Skills:

• Ideally holds a B2 License, though applications from unlicensed engineers will be considered.

• Minimum 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience, with at least 3 years specializing in IFE/CMS systems.

• Strong expertise in maintaining and troubleshooting IFE/CMS systems.

• Proficient in managing and documenting software, firmware, and hardware for IFE/CMS equipment.

• Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance for aircraft entertainment systems.

• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
