Welsh Freelance Subtitlers and Transcribers

Project: Welsh Freelance Subtitler and/or Transcriber

📝 About the Role

RWS is seeking experienced subtitlers and transcriptionists to collaborate on a freelance, on-demand basis. Work can be done remotely. Candidates with qualifications in Audiovisual Translation or those with over 1000 minutes of subtitling experience are encouraged to apply.

🎯 Requirements

• Native-level proficiency in Welsh

• Professional-level proficiency in English

• Experience in subtitling and transcription for multimedia projects

• Familiarity with subtitling software (e.g., Subtitle Edit)

🌟 Desired Skills

• Experience in subtitling and transcription for industry multimedia projects

• Experience with accessibility features such as Audio Description and SDH (Subtitles for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing)

English into French (France) - Life Science Translators

Who We Are Looking For

We are mainly seeking profiles specialized in Life Sciences interested in supporting us with Translation, Post-Editing, and Reviewing tasks.

What Are We Asking From You?

1. Native-level proficiency in French (France).

2. Expertise in translating within the Life Sciences field.

3. Either:

   • Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics or similar + 2 years of experience,

   • Or no related degree + 5 years of experience.

4. Willingness to acquire Trados (version 2019 or newer).
   RWS Group offers discounts to collaborators after successful completion of the test.

How Does Our Recruitment Process Look Like?

1. Submit your application to our freelancers’ platform, WorkZone.

2. We review your application and pre-approve it.

3. You receive an email confirming pre-approval and instructions to validate your email and complete your profile.

4. Once completed, your profile becomes visible to us, and we contact you to agree on rates and testing dates.

5. Upon passing the test, you sign electronic agreements and complete a short security course.
