About the Role | نبذة عن الوظيفة

The IP Network Specialist will participate in planning, designing, and governing Zain Bahrain’s IP network and ISP infrastructure to support current and future business requirements.

The role focuses on network architecture, capacity planning, traffic analysis, technology evaluation, operational governance, and project delivery. The successful candidate will help ensure that new and existing network solutions remain scalable, resilient, secure, and operationally efficient.

Key Responsibilities | المسؤوليات الرئيسية

• Design scalable IP network and ISP infrastructure solutions that support business growth and the company’s technology strategy.
• Prepare and review High-Level Designs and Low-Level Designs.
• Develop technical specifications and implementation guidelines for new network services.
• Support network-expansion and technology-refresh initiatives.
• Lead network capacity forecasting and traffic-analysis activities.
• Evaluate new networking technologies and plan the infrastructure lifecycle.
• Prepare technical requirements and Statements of Work.
• Develop Bills of Quantities for networking projects.
• Prepare Requests for Proposal and Requests for Information.
• Participate in the technical evaluation and selection of vendor solutions.
• Prepare CAPEX and OPEX estimates.
• Develop budget forecasts and business cases for strategic network investments.
• Establish and maintain IP network architecture standards.
• Develop engineering guidelines and design-governance requirements.
• Ensure network designs provide consistency, scalability, resilience, and security.
• Review network performance, capacity utilisation, and service availability.
• Analyse incidents, recurring problems, operational trends, and network KPIs.
• Recommend continual-improvement initiatives for IP network operations.
• Define operational-acceptance criteria for new network solutions.
• Ensure solutions are operationally ready before handover to the Operations team.
• Collaborate with Technology, Cybersecurity, Business, Marketing, PMO, and Procurement teams.
• Coordinate the design and delivery of new network services and solutions.
• Manage technical engagements with vendors, consultants, and service providers.
• Support the planning, procurement, implementation, testing, and acceptance lifecycle.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and networking best practices.
• Provide recommendations for network evolution and modernisation.
• Identify opportunities to automate engineering, planning, and governance activities.
• Use scripting and automation tools to streamline repetitive processes.
• Ensure network solutions comply with security policies and regulatory requirements.
• Apply security-by-design principles to network architecture.
• Maintain network architecture documents, standards, procedures, and technical roadmaps.
• Provide technical leadership during implementation, testing, commissioning, and handover.

• تحديد معايير القبول التشغيلي للحلول الجديدة.

Education and Experience | المؤهلات والخبرات

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Communication Engineering, or a related field.
• CCNA or another professional IP-network certification is preferred.
• CCNP Routing and Switching knowledge or experience is preferable.
• Three to five years of experience in IP and ISP network planning, design, or engineering.
• Experience should preferably be gained within a telecommunications operator or internet service provider.
• Exposure to IP and ISP infrastructure, network capacity, and content-delivery network service providers.
