Your Profile
Bachelor’s Degree in related field or similar from a reputable college or university
At least 5 years of experience in the field of customs (import, special procedures, export, customs tariff and (non/preferential) origin determination)
International experience (work in international teams, working abroad) is an advantage
You have experience in ERP IT systems, such as SAP, potentially Trade Management solutions
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, strong networking, negotiating, and influencing skills
Has good command of English
Able to prioritize tasks and to manage workloads in an effective manner with minimal direct supervision and flexibility in managing multiple and diverse tasks
Effective problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in time critical situations
Sensitive and responsive to the needs of different religious, ethnic, tribal, and cultural groups
Proven integrity and high personal standards of behaviour
Has good working knowledge of MS Office suite
Your Responsibilities
The main tasks for you are the following (related to EG and ME countries) by reporting to Country Customs Responsible:
Customs governance support
Monitoring and evaluation of national rules and regulations relevant to customs
Support in preparation of Customs Guidelines, work instructions and processes
Support in Implementation of Siemens tools
Customs advisory
Providing customs advisory and information to relevant stakeholders (in close alignment with Customs Responsible)
Support in E2E/logistics processes for customs topics
Regular training of all employees who are directly or indirectly involved in customs activities
Customs classification
Checking classification instruction (import and/or export)
Support in customs classification in accordance with the applicable customs regulations by considering the technical characteristics required for classification
Operational customs
Monitoring and analyzing flows of goods for import and/or export transactions, including usage of relevant IT solutions internal and external
Controlling and monitoring of Broker instruction for import/export declarations based on SOP
Clarification of customs declaration related errors from broker/customs (import/export)
Case-specific clarification with local customs offices in close coordination with Customs responsible
Statistical reporting
Statistical reporting regarding national legal requirements for reporting transactions
Monitoring
Perform / support by performing spot checks within given monitoring tools
Support in customs audit internal and national
In this role you will follow the internal rules and regulations as established by the SE customs organization and the relevant legal entity you work for.
