Position Overview

Role: Curriculum Coordinator / Program Specialist

Focus: Children and Youth Programs

The role involves developing, implementing, and supervising activities and programs that support the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of children and youth, including those with special needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Program Planning: Develop schedules and activity plans for children and youth programs. Review and provide input on plans developed by entry-level and intermediate Educational Aids (CY Program Assistants).

• Activity Implementation: Execute activities and special events tailored to the needs of children and youth, considering any special instructions from parents (dietary needs, physical requirements, or other relevant information).

• Special Requirements Support: Prepare and implement program options for children and youth with special requirements, providing care as directed by supervisors.

Child and Youth Program Leader

Position Overview

Role: Mentor & Curriculum Coordinator

Focus: Children and Youth Programs

This role combines mentorship and curriculum responsibilities to support the professional development of program assistants and the growth of children and youth participants. The mentor guides team members in translating training into practice while overseeing and implementing curriculum activities.

Key Responsibilities – Mentorship

• Team Mentorship: Mentor assigned CY Program Assistant team members.

• Training Support: Assist lower-level employees in completing Standardized Module Training.

• Professional Guidance: Help program assistants translate professional development training into practical application by mentoring, guiding, and role-modeling.

• Behavior Modeling: Demonstrate appropriate techniques for working with children and youth.

• Feedback & Recommendations: Provide suggestions to improve team performance and support credentialing practicum candidates.

• Observation & Progress Tracking: Assist the Training & Curriculum (T&C) Specialist in recording observations and charting progress of team members’ on-the-job skills.

Key Responsibilities – Curriculum

• Activity Planning: Plan activities for program participants based on individual needs and continually review for appropriateness.

• Activity Implementation: Work with T&C Specialist, supervisors, and CY Program Assistants to implement activities and special events addressing physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs.

• Special Needs Support: Prepare and implement program options for children and youth with special requirements. Assist with projects, homework, and life skills development.

• Adaptation & Recommendations: Recommend adjustments to activities and plans to meet unusual situations.

• Program Presentation: Set up displays and bulletin boards to support program engagement and communication.
