Job Description:

We are looking for a Freight Terminal Manager to oversee outbound transportation operations, ensuring compliance with Government and Commercial logistics requirements. The ideal candidate will be experienced in shipment planning and documentation using Government systems like DSS and WMS.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Supervise outbound freight terminal operations including air, sea, surface, and parcel movements

• Direct teams in scheduling, load planning, and shipment documentation (BOLs, manifests, etc.)

• Utilize GFM systems and comply with DFTS, SDDC, and applicable contracts

• Plan resources (labor, equipment, materials) according to weekly/monthly forecasts

• Adjust plans and redirect resources as needed to meet daily changes

• Monitor and ensure task performance meets contract requirements

• Use WMS, DSS, and other government data systems to meet performance standards

Supervisory Duties:

• Lead and manage a team of Transportation Specialists

• Ensure compliance with DLA SOPs, FRAGOS, audit preparation, and quality manuals

• Manage Audit Assertion Program reporting and documentation

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required

• At least 3 years’ experience using DSS or WMS in the last 5 years

Skills & Abilities:

• Strong written communication and correspondence drafting

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and email systems

• Analytical thinking and multitasking under pressure

• Use DSS, WMS, QMF, QLIK for data validation and control

• Ensure all operations align with DLA SOPs and audit readiness standards

• Implement internal controls and audit assertion documentation

• Manage QC and Customer Service functional areas

Supervisory Duties:

• Lead and mentor a team of QC technicians and specialists

• Maintain daily audit readiness and document corrective action plans
