 Job Description

We are seeking experienced Scala Developers to join cross-functional teams supporting a prominent UK-based retail and e-commerce company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain Scala-based backend microservices using Akka and advanced functional programming libraries

• Develop and enhance business-critical systems for pricing, customer loyalty (Nectar), and legacy supply chain operations

• Apply reactive programming principles and DevOps best practices to ensure high availability and performance

• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to deliver roadmap features

• Improve observability, scalability, and cost-efficiency through continuous optimisation

• Write clean, testable code following TDD/BDD

• Participate in code reviews and architecture discussions

Must-Have Skills:

• Proficiency in English

• Advanced Scala experience (latest versions preferred)

• Strong Akka knowledge (typed/classic)

• Familiar with functional programming libraries like Cats, Shapeless

• Experience in event-driven and reactive system design

• AWS knowledge (Lambda, S3, RDS)

• Comfortable with CI/CD and production tools

• Resilience and performance mindset

• تصميم وبناء وصيانة خدمات خلفية بلغة Scala باستخدام Akka

• تطبيق مبادئ البرمجة التفاعلية وأفضل ممارسات DevOps

• التعاون مع مهندسين ومديري منتجات وأصحاب مصالح

 Job Description

AEC Digital is a disruptive force in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) sector, digitally transforming traditional workflows.

Role Overview:

• Collaborate remotely with architects and engineers

• Create and maintain 3D models for building systems using tools like Revit, Rhino 3D, AECOsim

• Implement BIM standards and Execution Plans

• Coordinate and integrate design and construction data

• Manage multi-disciplinary data across systems

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Architecture or Engineering

• 2+ years of experience in BIM modeling and management
