ROWPU Manager
Job Summary:
The ROWPU Manager will be responsible for managing the Reverse Osmosis Water Purification Unit(s) (ROWPU) and/or Water Plant(s) operations. This role includes overseeing water purification services, ensuring quality performance, equipment operation, and cost control. The manager will execute and ensure compliance with water testing standards, maintain logs, monitor equipment readings, and provide advice to the Project Leader on various risks and impacts.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the operational duties related to Navy Drinking Water Systems.
- Supervise or direct the operation or maintenance of a specific Water Treatment Plant (WTP) or water distribution system.
- Implement installation criteria for the U.S. Navy Overseas Drinking Water (ODW) quality program.
- Manage, collect, and interpret drinking water data at the installation.
- Identify and address deficiencies in the drinking water system and collaborate with water plant operators to implement corrective actions.
- Maintain and track water-related reporting, including Sanitary Survey execution and Fit for Human Consumption determinations.
- Facilitate technical data sharing and coordination.
- Identify and develop metrics to measure efficiency.
- Analyze utility trends and propose corrective actions.
- Perform commodity management, including budget oversight and developing utility rates.
- Develop and implement processes to minimize life cycle costs while delivering required service levels.
- Maintain Preventative Maintenance for the water distribution system.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to meet organizational objectives.
Required Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- High school diploma with 8+ years in industrial water purification or military training in water operations, including at least 1-4 years in a supervisory role. Preferably, at least 1 year within KBR Water Purification group.
- Experience in applying principles of physics, chemistry, and bacteriology to water purification.
- Ability to read, understand, and record data from gauges and meters.
- Must be available to respond immediately and be on-site within a specified time.
- Must be familiar with equipment repair and operation on the site.
- Must be available for consultation during emergencies, malfunctions, or breakdowns.
- Familiarity with SCADA monitoring systems and troubleshooting is required.
- Administrative and computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks under deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and self-motivated.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Certification or ability to obtain NOCA Class 3 Treatment and Class 3 Distribution operator certification.
- Laboratory background is a plus.
